Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, subsidiaries are among the nation’s leading services firms
Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, whose subsidiaries are among the nation’s leading professional services firms, has been recognized for the fourth time in recent months for its diverse and inclusive culture. LATINA Style magazine, a national magazine for contemporary Hispanic women, recently announced that Deloitte made LATINA Style 50 Best Companies for Latinas’ 2004 list. It is the second consecutive year that the organization has been placed on this list.
“I am thrilled that Deloitte has once again made LATINA Style’s best 50 list,” said Barry Salzberg, US managing partner, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, and the organization’s diversity champion. “But these recognitions will not stop us from continuing to build a culture of inclusion. We are very committed to making Deloitte the place where the best choose to be.”
This seventh annual LATINA Style survey is the most respected analytical questionnaire on corporate America's policies and practices as they pertain to professional Hispanic women. More than 600 of the most prominent corporations in the United States participated in the extensive survey. Deloitte was the only professional services organization included on the list. Some of the companies, which made the list were American Express, Xerox Corporation, IBM, Daimler Chrysler, and Eastman Kodak.
“We congratulate all of those who made the list, and we applaud LATINA Style for creating a survey that allows organizations to examine how they are helping Latinas progress in the workplace,” said Redia Anderson, national principal, Diversity & Inclusion, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP. “Surveys, such as LATINA Style, help keep organizations, such as Deloitte focused and accountable for results that address the needs of all of our people within the workforce.”
“Deloitte has made great strides in creating a culture of inclusion for all people, and it is great to know that we are continuing to be recognized for our efforts,” said Maritza Montiel, regional managing partner, Central Atlantic, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP.
About the Survey
Companies responding to LATINA Style's questionnaire were evaluated based on issues that LATINA Style readers identified as most important to them in the workplace. Among the principal areas of evaluation were: number of Latina executives, Latina board members, mentoring programs, educational opportunities, alternative work policies, dependent/child care support, employee benefits, women's issues, and Hispanic relations. Evaluations for the 2004 annual report were based on 2003 data.
An annual awards ceremony honoring the LATINA Style 50 companies will take place in early February 2005 during LATINA Style's Diversity Conference in Washington, D.C.
